“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures & the encouragement they provide we might have hope.”
The Bible is God’s special story telling how much He loves us.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God loves me even though I have a sinful heart.
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
Sin in my heart makes me God’s enemy.
Sin affects myself & others & my relationship with God. In Joseph’s life, we see how sin affected Joseph & his family.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one & only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
–John 3:16, 17
God loves us so much that He sent Jesus as our one & only Savior from sin.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! & that is what we are!”
–1 John 3:1
When I trust in Jesus, God makes me His child.
“…’Love the Lord your God with all your heart & with all your soul & with all your mind.’ This is the first & greatest commandment. & the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”
As God’s child I will want to know God & obey Him.
